The story
Baharlı is a neighbourhood of Milas, 8 km from the town. It sits on a hill just past Karakaya Yokuşu, the Karakaya slope, where the road from Milas towards Bodrum comes down onto the plain.
In the 1950s the gravel road to Bodrum ran below the village and on to Ağaçlıhöyük, Koru and Ekinanbarı, as a local history column in Milas Önder Gazetesi traces it. Today the municipal bus from Milas to the airport still stops at Baharlı on its way through Koru and Ekinanbarı.
