The story
Çökertme kebabı is a meat dish found especially around Bodrum. Strips of tender beef are laid over a bed of fried potatoes cut as thin as matchsticks, and the plate is served with garlic yoghurt and a tomato sauce.
"Bodrum Çökertme Kebabı" was registered as a geographical indication on 14 August 2025 at the request of the Bodrum Chamber of Commerce, which now inspects restaurants that want to serve it under that name.
