The story
Almonds are a traditional crop on the Datça peninsula, and its best-known variety is the nurlu almond. It has a hard, pitted brown shell and a kernel that is larger and sweeter than most, and it ripens in August about two weeks later than other varieties.
"Datça Nurlu Bademi" is a registered protected designation of origin in Türkiye, number 1504, granted on 24 November 2023 at the request of the Muğla Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
