The story
İstanbul Modern’s collection includes her work Sargas Denizi. Her paintings provide a starting point for talking about colour, shape and abstraction.
One of the first women to study at the fine-arts academy in İstanbul, Zeid became known for large, kaleidoscopic abstract paintings and exhibited in Paris, London and New York. She spent her last decades in Jordan, where she taught painting.
