The story

Menemen is cooked in a wide pan: peppers and tomatoes are softened first, then eggs are stirred in and cooked soft. It is eaten straight from the pan with bread for scooping.

The great national debate is whether onion belongs in it. The dish shares its name with a town near İzmir, though the connection is disputed.
