The story
Saklıkent, "the hidden city", is a canyon cut into limestone by the Karaçay, a branch of the Eşen Çayı, on the Muğla–Antalya border. It runs for about 18 km, its walls rise about 200 m and at its narrowest it is only 2 m wide.
Visitors enter along a 200-metre wooden walkway fixed to the canyon walls, and beyond it cold, strong springs rise from the rock. The area was declared Saklıkent National Park on 6 June 1996. It lies in Seydikemer district, about 45 km from Fethiye.
