The story
Tarkan became a star in Türkiye in the early 1990s and an international one in 1997 with Şımarık, the "kiss kiss" song, written with Sezen Aksu. It was a hit across Europe and Latin America.
Born to a Turkish family in Germany, he moved to Türkiye as a child. His albums remain among the best selling in the country.
